City Hall Belfast - Silver Jewellery

Our City Hall Belfast Silver Jewellery captures the grandeur of this majestic old building in the centre of modern Belfast.

Queen Victoria granted Belfast City status in 1888 and is was decided that a building befitting this new status was required.

Designed by Alfred Brumwell Thomas the building is made from Portland stone in the Baroque Revival style.

At the time the building cost £369,000 which today is equivalent to a mouth watering 128 million pounds.

Did you know that the name Belfast originates from the Gaelic 'Beal Feirste', which means 'mouth of river'.
